Virpuli - Packaging

Virpuli (whirl, curl) is a Latvian potato chips brand from Adazu (snacks company), settle for several years in Latvia and with a customer base of young kids and teenagers, stand out in the market due to their whirlwind shape alike and specific flavour (barbecue). Gender equality is very important both as a human-rights, taking inspiration from many female protagonists have left a positive impact in the gaming industry’s history, such as the bounty hunter Samus Aran of the “Metroid” series from Nintendo, the illustration is a tribute and claim to fairness. The inspiration, apart of games, was taken from 80s comics and the product itself, colour and shape. The illustration showing a lot of fun and direct attention to the packaging with bright saturated colours and the use of heavy shadows for emphasis. Aesthetics matches the message and tone to evoke strong emotions. Virpuli logo is a highly visual bold, blocky sans serifs, bright color with plenty of contrast to pop from the bag.
