NGO “Wings of hope” charity centre Pogotava sell products made by youth with special needs from Sigulda, Latvia. With children and parents, I redesigned their old identity; product packaging folded to create an origami piece. Graphology concepts were used to project characteristics of Wings of Hope logo, shop redistributed, furniture built in-house using recycled materials. The people spoke Latvian or Russian which meant communication via gestures, sounds, pen and paper. I lived with them. Design can break any barriers when done for a good cause. Shortage of time, money and language is not enough to stop designing for people.
